By using Recap, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Service Description

Recap is a Windows desktop application that:

• Records system audio and microphone
• Transcribes audio using AI
• Generates meeting summaries

Free Trial

• 30 minutes of free transcription upon registration
• No credit card required
• One trial per device

Paid Access

• 30-day access purchased via Gumroad
• Non-refundable after download
• One purchase per device (device fingerprint locked)

Account Security

• You are responsible for password security
• Account tied to device fingerprint
• Transferring accounts between devices is prohibited

Acceptable Use

You may NOT:

• Share your account credentials
• Record conversations without consent (check local laws)
• Use service for illegal activities
• Attempt to bypass device restrictions
• Reverse engineer the software

Service Availability

• We provide service "as is" without warranties
• Service may be interrupted for maintenance
• We reserve right to terminate accounts violating ToS

Limitations of Liability

• We are not liable for lost recordings or data
• Maximum liability limited to amount paid
• No liability for third-party service failures (Deepgram, Groq)

Data Ownership

• You own all recordings you create
• Audio files stored locally on your device
• We do not claim rights to your content

Termination

• You may delete your account anytime
• We may terminate accounts violating ToS
• Unused minutes do not roll over or receive refunds

Changes to Terms

• We may update these terms
• Continued use constitutes acceptance
• Major changes will be communicated via email
